My name is Jerome Green, or Mr. Jerome. I have worked with The Next Step Academy since January 2015.
A little about me: My amazing wife, Tara, and I have been married since 2006 and we have four wonderful children. We are passionate about education in our family and believe that learning takes place everywhere, which is something that we strive to instill in our kids. We love being outdoors, especially camping and exploring in national parks and forests.
Professionally, I began my foray into the world of academic education after leaving the military in 2009. Having previously gone to school for Computer Information Systems and Project Management, obtaining an associates degree in Early Childhood Education was a big change. As much as I love working with technology, I found my passion in teaching and have continued to delve deeper into the field. I have worked with every age group ranging from pre-school children to retired adults. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals with developmental delays, learning/cognitive disabilities, general education populations, gifted and talented programs, Deaf individuals and individuals on the autism spectrum. My experience with teaching/training includes time spent with public school systems, private facilities, corporations, as a private tutor and within the U.S. military. I am a certified teacher and hold Master's degrees in both Elementary Education and Special Education. I am currently working towards combining my passions of technology and education with a doctorate in educational technology.
This is what I love to do, and I am thankful to The Next Step Academy for providing me the opportunity to work with the amazing individuals here. I learn something new from them every day!
