Albert Einstein summed up our philosophy on education when he said, "Learning is an experience, everything else is just information."
Since 2005 we've known that this is especially true for individuals with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and all other learning challenges. Our educational services are designed to provide learning through meaningful experience, in a customized way that meets the individual needs of each child or young adult. Read on for more information about what we offer.
Our academic services include both academic skills and non-academic support skills, and are customized for your child. We specialize in working with individuals who learn differently - those who have special needs, Autism, learning disabilities or who really need a specific and customized solution.
Sessions are conducted onsite at our facility in Spring Branch, or in your home. Sessions consist of a variety of learning activities designed to achieve our agreed upon goals. The cost of individual student curriculum is the responsibility of the parent, in addition to the session cost. All curriculum costs are shared and agreed upon prior to beginning tutoring.

When it comes to teaching, our educators understand that there may be a need for academic remediation. At a basic level, remediation means "To Teach Again" with content that children may not have passed or understood the first time. As our educators recognize the main signs of lack of understanding of the material, we will refocus to below grade level materials before grade-level learning.
Remediation is also often guided by formative assessment, whether formal or informal, to gather enough insight to recognize the significant breakdown in what they child is learning.

If your child is struggling with their learning, our school is equipped to provide an academic intervention. Although the name sounds extreme, rest assured that this is only required when extra help is needed. Our instructional interventions will be set up in a way to help track your child's progress.

A variety of cognitive skills are required for learning efficiently and with ease. Working memory, selective attention and processing speed are several cognitive skills that underpin much of our academic success. These components are part of a larger network of skills, called executive functions, and they play a significant role in our ability to work quickly, accurately and under pressure. Without these critical skills, school can be tough. The good news is that these skills can be trained and developed, so that they are more fluid, automatic and supportive of the individual. Educating a child with Autism, or other special needs, can be challenging. Many times individuals with Autism have what are called "splinter skills," with certain areas being very highly developed while other areas are significantly underdeveloped. For example, a child may be able to do high level maths, while struggling with basic writing and spelling abilities. A teenager may be able to create amazing works of art, but struggle with basic concepts of currency. The possible combinations of what a child can do, and what they still need to learn, are too numerous for traditional curriculum suppliers to account for. Our customized curriculum planning solutions can help you determine which curriculums to use for each area of education, so that your child can achieve their best possible outcomes.
